The photo exhibit “Art of Science” at the Liberty Science Center reveals the unintended beauty of real scientific research, and, at the Zimmerli Art Museum, the story of Russian artist Valery Yurlov (born 1932). Under the oppressive regime of the mid-century Soviet Union, he worked in secret to pursue a career as an experimental artist who wanted to make more than state-sanctioned propaganda.
