New Jersey’s minimum wage is set to rise to $13 an hour for most hourly workers on Jan. 1. Labor advocates say that’s still inadequate, while small-business owners say the increase will put them under additional pressure. The recent rise in inflation “in itself really warrants a reexamination of the legislation...,” says one economist.
