NJSO plays McConkey's Ferry by George Antheil
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra opens its 2014 season with McKonkey's Ferry Concert Overture, by Trenton-born composer George Antheil. Antheil was called the "Bad Boy of Music" in the 1920s, where his music caused riots to break out in Paris. Later he lived in Hollywood, where he wrote film scores. McConkey's Ferry is based on Antheil's childhood memories of Washington's Crossing.
